Changes over Time

In prior DHS surveys, pregnant women were not asked these questions and were therefore excluded from the tabulation. In DHS-8, all women are asked these questions, and all are included in the tabulation.

In DHS-8 decision making for using or not using family planning is reported as one indicator. In DHS-7, this was two indicators – by who was the decisionmaker among currently married women who were using family planning and among currently married women who were not using family planning. Prior to DHS-7, there was only one indicator for decisionmaker among currently married women who were using family planning.
