Definition

 

1)      Percent distribution of children under age 5 with diarrhea at any time in the 2 weeks preceding the survey by amount of liquids given.

2)      Percent distribution of children under age 5 with diarrhea at any time in the 2 weeks preceding the survey by amount of food given.

Population base: Living children under age 5 years (KR file)

Time period: 2 weeks preceding the interview

 

Numerators:

1)      Number of living children under age 5 with diarrhea in the 2 weeks preceding the interview in categories of amount of liquids given: more than usual, same as usual, somewhat less, much less, none, or don’t know (b5 = 1 & b19 < 60 & h11 in 1:2 & h38 = 5/4/3/2/0/8,9)

2)      Number of living children under age 5 with diarrhea in the 2 weeks preceding the interview in categories of amount foods offered: more than usual, same as usual, somewhat less, much less, none, never gave food, or don’t know (b5 = 1 & b19 < 60 & h11 in 1:2 & h39 = 5/4/3/2/0/1/8,9)

 

Denominator: Number of living children under age 5 with diarrhea in the 2 weeks preceding the survey (b5 = 1 & b19 < 60 & h11 in 1:2)
