Abstract:

Contraceptive discontinuation, switching and failure become increasingly important issues as populations reach relatively high levels of contraceptive use. The focus of family planning programs shifts from encouraging couples to adopt contraception to encouraging them to maintain use and providing them with contraceptive options to meet their needs.
