Abstract: Gender inequality is one of the major problems faced by the human society. It refers to unequal and biased treatment towards female. Fortunately, over a period of time, things have slowly changed. However, this is still a very serious and widespread problem in society. National Family Health Survey-3 (NFHS-3) was released recently by the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare published by International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS). The report provides information on health and nutrition for both children and adults. In this paper an attempt has been made to analyze the gender inequality on the basis of gender parity index with respect of health and nutrition.
