Govt. justifies move to drop questions on disability from NFHS-6, rights activists cry foul

"...In a detailed response the statistics division in an office memorandum dated June 22 said that the questions on disability were included for the first time in NFHS-5 (2019-21) and on the basis of the survey report, it was observed that the disability prevalence was only 1% for rural areas and 0.9% for urban, while, NSSO estimates for the year 2018 showed 2.3% for rural and 2% for urban..."
