The Demographic and Health Survey Program - New Name Same High Quality

In September 2013, USAID awarded the seventh round of the USAID-funded Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) Program to ICF International and partners. Formerly known as MEASURE DHS, the new project has a new name, The Demographic and Health Surveys Program or The DHS Program. The DHS Program will continue the same high standards of data collection, analysis, dissemination, and capacity strengthening which have been the hallmarks of this project since its inception in 1984.

The DHS Program welcomes the continued partnership with Blue Raster, The Futures Institute, The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Center for Communication Programs (JHUCCP), PATH, and Vysnova, along with two new partner organizations—EnCompass and Kimetrica.

“We are honored to continue working with USAID,” said Sunita Kishor, Director of The DHS Program. “Our new name reflects the broad range of activities planned over the next five years in partnership with USAID”.

During the seventh round of the DHS program, ICF and partners will provide technical assistance to about 95 surveys, enhance new capacity strengthening activities and tools, and continue developing new online and mobile technologies.

The DHS Program and survey data will continue to be available on our project website www.measuredhs.com. A new URL, to reflect our new name, DHSprogram.com, will be live in February. Our social media sites have been relabeled to reflect the new program name. (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest)
